Overpriced? A teriyaki chicken plate with veggies is $4.50. That said, that and egg rolls are the only thing I've ever had at Mix Express. Further, I've only had take out from ME so I can't speak to it's ambiance. I can say the food is quick and delicious and is just what it says it is. Y'all are crazy.

Terrible, they said "sushi is on sale 50% off Friday Night" two people told us that. So I ordered Nigiri Sushi, the most traditional kind. When I got the bill the sushi was full price, I asked my server and she went and checked. No Nigiri Sushi is not sushi and was full price. The sad part is it was terrible sushi. the rice was so hard and the fish was tasteless. The tempura green chili was greasy, the main course had mashed potatoes that were a disappointment.

I ate there once back in 2012, the food tasted terrible. The chicken was boiled and had no flavor. It was also very expensive. You must avoid this terrible restaurant. It is the worst in Las Cruces.

Not a fan of this place. I'm a fan of Asian food and I've lived in Asia for over a decade and this place disappointed me. I ordered a chicken cutlet and the representation of the dish wasn't oriental, looked very americanized, and didn't taste like the cutlet I had in Japan or in Korea. Don't come to this place and expect good oriental food.

I'm really not too sure as to why I keep ordering from this place. I am choosing to review their delivery service. In a city where there are about 3 places that deliver food that isnt pizza people that order delivery have very slim pickings. - Expect to wait 1 to 2 hours for your food. I'm beginning to think they have 1 delivery person for the entire day for the entire area they serve. - Their food is really never that great or particularly hot. - They tend to always get my order wrong or forget things. - I have complained to the manager multiple times and they have promised refunds and gift certificates that are either forgotten about or lost. As of right now it has been 2 hours since I placed my order and it still hasnt arrived. Normally I would cook or go out like a normal person but I am currently bed ridden due to trip to the hospital last night. Thank you for making me even more hungry waiting on your bad delivery service The Mix Express. They have a nice website. That's about the only plus.

LOVE their Asian Chicken!!! This is my IT place for a quick bite of Japanese food. Living in Los Angeles has spoiled me, especially when choosing Japanese quisine. Although I kept my expectation pretty low, I really had a terrible experience at one of the Japanese restaurant nearby Mix Express when I was in Las Cruces. This is not their review, so I 'm not gonna rant about it here, but I was almost furious to be served such awful dishes. Mix Express literally saved me from craving for decent Japanese food in Las Cruces. I usually get Asian Chicken or Salmon, and the seasoing and tenderness of the meat are perfect for me. Love their noodles, too. Especially with Ninniku(Garlic)! And the price? Very rereasonable. I go to Mix for Sushi, but I heard they use the same ingredients at Express, too, so their price for Sushi seems a great deal. Oh, and Calpico or Ramune drink to complete my meal.

It took a lot for me to even drop ONE STAR on this place! (but I think 1 ISA mandatory minimum) In one word, SUCKED. The service was friendly and helpful but it ended there. I'm just gonna list what sucked. (I'm sitting in the restaurant right now. -ambience was cheesy and faked. Literally EVERY picture on the wall is crooked (as if the food won't get you naseous enough) -prices SEEMED okay for lunch, until I got my food. -iced tea was good. But they hardly put any ice in it. -service was friendly, and about average wait time (they forgot my eggroll- then gave me a springroll- where's the beef?) Hearing the clanging of a wok getting a workout I was excited to see what the chef...errr cook...errr kid was gonna make me. My plate came out and it was Luke warm; I actually would've prefered it cold now that I ate it. The entree was literally, literally, literally what you might expect if you ordered lunch at the office on Friday, didn't get a chance to eat it so you stuffed it in the break room fridge. Then on Tuesday, yep, Tuesday you go into the break room, open the fridge looking to steal a co-workers tuna sandwich and you spot your little styrofoam treasure still in there! Sooo, you crack it open for a whiff; smells ok, so you put it in the micro for 3 minutes and go to the coke machine. Well, it's out of order so you actually go to the machine on the other side of the building. When you get there, you accidently knock over a big barrel of marbles. (I guess you're in the marble business). Well, about an hour later you finish cleaning them up and head back to the break room. When you get there your styrofoam container is melted! You accidently put it in for 13 minutes!! But it's had an hour to cool down. ok, now take a bite- yep, that's the lunch I just got jacked for at The Mix Express!!! the veggies were discolored & soggy/super soft. The rice was bloated and soft and saltier than it should've been. The beef was tender, but that's because it's been marinating in nuclear soy sauce for a week. The sauce on top was horrid, the wrong texture/color and generally gross. the entire lunch made me sick. I have the taste STUCK in my mouth still 20 mins later. I'm going back for a refill of my tea- if they say, "no refill"! I will seriously start rearranging their seating chart....hmmmm, maybe somebody already tossed the place- and they haven't gotten around to straightening the pictures on the wall! Will I be back? Yes, if I need to use the john and every toilet in the city is closed!!

I am going to be a little more complimentary than the previous poster - not becasue the food I had was amazing, but because of where we live. I ordered sushi - tuna rolls and california roll and miso soup. The rolls were on par with some of the better supermarket sushi I have had. The rice could use improvement, it was a bit starchy and chalky...but the "stuffings" were fine. I liked that there was a spicy sauce of some sort with the tuna. The miso? Seriously, hit a really good asian supermarket's offerings of packaged miso mix and you might chance on something the same or better. Good try! We do live in a desert...and the staff was friendly and helpful. Prices were pretty darn good actually, all the above for about $9.50. In a pinch, I will return. If I want to savor some awesome sushi - until I hear of better around, I will go back to Aqua Reef!

2.5 stars but I like being nice... Something like home in a place you least expect it, Las Cruces, New Mexico is probably the last place I think I would be able to find anything that was remotely similar to Honolulu. Fortunately, I did. The Mix Express "specializes" in Asian inspired cuisine, and just like Hawaii - puts its own spin on Japanese comfort food. After an exhausting long day I was invited over to eat some lunch. Although I had previously lived in Las Cruces for two years before, I have to admit, it never crossed my mind to cross University Avenue from New Mexico State University to eat at the Mix or its Express-version. The GOOD: Its quick like, it's a sit down - or a take-to-your- cubicle and cry over paperwork kind of restaurant. This day was definitely a sit and enjoy 'here' kind of day. They offer both fountain or bottled beverage at the same price, and their menu is diverse in Asian-inspired quick-dishes. The BAD: although entertaining, the cook and cashier had to battle it out while the restaurant was filled with patrons. I don't remember what they were arguing about, but the service was a tad slowed down because of it. The portions are a fair size, but getting everything that belongs on the plate is the tough part. I ordered a simple curry plate, while my company ordered something that came with sides - that never showed up, she had to ask for them, repeatedly. Overall: the place is popular among the student patrons. It is quick access to decent food. Asian-inspired like some of the places I'm getting used to in Hawaii. Curry is similar to something I would find in Honolulu (CoCo Ichiban) - nothing impressive, but again - it was only $6. I kind of wish I frequented while I lived here, but in the end, it may have been for the better.

I've eaten at Mix Express a few times when I was in a "vegetarian pinch." The menu is simple -- teriyaki, Asian "BBQ", pre-packed sushi and some sides. Delivery is available. Service is fast, but that's because Mix Express essentially serves fast food. (Though to their credit I have to say that the vegetables used in dishes are "fresh" not frozen.) The food is very, very poor. I'll probably go back again next time I'm desperate and on that side of town, but otherwise I'd like to avoid it. You should too.

I've been there twice. First time I was hopeful, the second time I was just giving it a second chance since maybe I didn't order one of the better options. But after two lackluster experiences, I have to say, Mix Express is off my list. While I thought their rice was good, they skimped on the tofu in favor of really, really mediocre vegetables The broccoli that was so steamed it was yellow and lots of part of the veggies that just weren't edible, like the stems. It is convenient and the people who work there seem nice enough, but I really cannot bring myself to try them again. Disappointing.

Prepackaged sushi.... big no no. The prices are cheap and the food taste ok, the speed for getting your food is good. Overall if youre in a hurry go ahead and get the teriyaki express, but if youre looking for something "japanese" you wont find it here.
